Re: Faceless Forums vs face to Face contact
If truth be told I don't mind a bit of debate here - and you do occasionally learn something. Also this board often has it's finger on the pulse of what's going on in this country so the reality is that its not time wasted completely - I tell myself. But I'm not really into the expat thing at all and don't want to meet up with hoards so we can discuss lettuce prices so I prefer small meets with families. Maybe dinner so I might get to a curry night one day.

I'm more a faceless forum type of person. Meets do my head in and I suffer from paranoia that no one will like me, I have little self belief also (much better than I was) but I can whitter on here and other forums very very happily - face to face and I'm very nearly shit.
Why Pen, you do surprise me.

Hmmm difficult one!
I made friends with a woman from a forum years ago - for almost 6 years we kept in weekly email contact and she would ph me from time to time from Oz... Her mother came to stay with me whilst doing business in the uK in august and then my friend came to stay just before xmas - it was awful!
She was awful - nevermind being thankful that I had put her and her mother up for over a week each for nothing, she was horrible - moaned constantly, was constantly critical of everythign, was rude to my friends and parents. She claimed she was a big shot hairdresser - I should post a photo of the scissor attack on my son!
So I am now more wary of meeting people offline!
