Excited, Sad and Scared

One minute im really excited, the next i am desperately sad and then im scared out of my wits. Im sure i was dropped on my head as a baby to be doing this AGAIN :unsure:

I cant go to girls' schools to collect their records or even say goodbye to my friends. I just cant face it :(

So, don't go, call Jed and get him to go :D

Look, in your position I think I would be having second, third, fourth etc thoughts. But I think you are so right to give it another go.

None of us knows what the future holds, but how will you know if yours is in Cairns if you don't go and find out. It could be the best thing you have ever done, after having the girls, and maybe Jed (dependng on the mood your in )

Oh, and someone has to help keep that lion in line ;)

As they say here - she'll be right

Good luck

That's pretty normal mate. Try not to dwell on it too much, just go through the motions if you have to. Whatever you have to do to just get past the next couple of days ;)

OMG!!

sooooon ...

weirdest thing was the event that tipped me over the edge was collecting son from his nursery and saying goodbye to them ... they'd had him 3 days a week from age 6 months to 2 years .... I just lost it in the nursery!!! sobbed and bawled and wanted to take little farmyard animals of theirs with me ...

saying goodbye to family and friends actually was okay after that!

good luck matey, have safe travels and be thankful you're missing the awful weather predicted for bank holiday!

Rookie,

I haven't been following your movements on the threads but I wanted to say all the very best for your plane flight over and for your life in Cairns.

I would find it very difficult to say goodbye to friends too. It'll be good that they'll only be a phonecall or email away, although I know it's not the same thing.

For what it's worth, the Cairns bunch of expats on this site seem like a really good bunch of people - don't forget you'll gradually make new friends as part of the joy of life and living in a new place. You'll also have the support of everyone on this forum, and you might be able to link up with the ones who are in Cairns.

Let us know how you get on!

Hey mate, I have all those thoughts in the same day, same hour even!

It seems to have come round really quickly, one minute you will doing the, 'shall we, should we' bit and the next minute you had sold your house and booked the tickets

It's not going to be easy and I think because we know that 'this is really it now', second time, second chance and we know we have got to try real hard to make it work this time. We cannot come back a second time, too bloody expensive for one thing

Girl, cry if you must, get it out of your system then look forward, this is the path you chose to follow now it's up to you to make it happen.

Go and get that bloody lion, give his mane a tug from me :D

See you one the other side cause we plan to visit.
