Re: Electricity Bills
Well I'm in Perth and I pay $28 a month direct debit to Alinta Gas and I'm still in credit. We cook with gas, both hob and oven and we have a gas water heater.
Our last Electricity bill which for 63 days (21st May-23rd July) was $372.85. We have reversed cycle throughout the house, but as it has been such a mild winter, we've only had the heating on @ 23ºC's for ½ an hour or so when needed, just to take the chill off or it gets too hot and stuffy. The pool pump is on for 8 hours a day, then there's the computers and all the usual stuff. |
Re: Electricity Bills

Blimey mate, I thought mine was high at $360!!! My summer bill isn't even that high. How come so high??
Its the aircon for the heating that's the killer. I work from home, so the aircon will be ticking over most of the day and all of the evening. No gas bill though. All electric. |

Biggish house with all the insulation properties of a sieve. Two teenage sons, so its like running an amusement arcade half the time. Four computers in the house, three TV's, xBox, PS3, Wii.... need I go on !!

I guess that is the difference. We have 1 TV, 1 computer 1 Wii and a very effective woodburner and not bad insulation. Plus the pool pump isn't on as much. Start saving creature!
Got the loft insulation guys coming, but the demand for them at the moment is so great it will be the end of September before they turn up. Total cost of $1871 but thanks to Kevin's handouts its only $271 to me.... lets see if it makes a difference next year. |

I'm on Integral, which according to the comparing website is pretty close to the cheapest. Certainly not worth the effort in changing suppliers.
$2,168 InHome Smart Saver $2,282 Ingreen Living $3,479 Pure compared to mine $1,878 AGL Advantage 5 If you were on the Integral "pure" plan, you may consider changing  |
