I was hoping that by the time I got back to Australia someone would have gagged him! I cannot stand that man ,he's one of the many reasons I refuse to watch channel 9, I don't know who is worse him or that flippin' Kochie loser or channel 7!:thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown::thumb down::thumbdown::thumbdown:

Tough call.

I like Bert though. Thought he was a bit strange at first but he does a good line in self-deprecating humour.

A pillock on Channel 9. He's a sports commentator, turned Game show presenter - Chris Tarrent but not as talented :rofl:, turned Channel 9 owner or manager or some such nonsense. Aussie's think he's as great as that moon faced wig wearing bloke. He thinks he's the dogs whatsits.

I just have to correct you here because it made me cringe knowing that you actually think Australians like him?! No, I think you will find a lot of us don't like him, in fact lots of people hate him. It's the Footy Show/A Current Affair/watching, VB drinking crowd that like him not the rest of the Australian population who actually enjoy watching television programs a with a bit or originality, culture and intelligence.:)

I love Bert! Bert is nothing like Kochie or Eddie, mainly due to having a brain and a soul I think!

I apologise. I assumed he had some sort of following simply because of the number of programmes he appears on. I stupidly assumed that meant that the programme makers thought he'd be a popular choice. I now realise that he's the one who makes the decisions as to who the face of the programme is and so obviously he chooses himself :D

Apology accepted! I just couldn't have people thinking that we Australians actually like that guy! Unfortunately in Australia mainstream TV is all about money making, it's not about the viewer, I am going to miss UK television SO much!:(

I don't get the UK TV thing. Looking back and reading stuff on here about what people are watching there, I honestly can't see any difference. It's all crap apart from the good documentaries and dramas produced there but they appear here so fast it makes no difference. The world revolves around American TV and that makes all countries TV rubbish. The UK may not have Eddie McGuire but they do have the Chris Tarrents etc.

I think that you will find that the UK have a lot more UK made television compared to the amount of Australian TV Australia has to offer. I love UK televison, I basically only watch documentaries and cooking shows so that's proabably why I love it so much!:):)

Some great period dramas in the UK but you can get UK TV here too, even without Austar.
I don't watch much TV, didn't in UK either but I watch mainly US shows such as NCIS, just as I did before the move.

I still don't know who Eddie is though!:o:lol:

I would agree but I don't believe that the quality in much of the quantity is that good. As for the cookery programmes, some are good, some are shite - Ainsley Harriott??????????

Well, I'll have to go out on a limb here again and say, I watched 'Millionaire Whizz kids' tonight. And he was the commensurate host. He played the kids along brilliantly.

Tough if you think its the 'in' thing to have a go at Eddie Mcguire, but he is a good game show host.

And then of course he popped up on the olympic coverage, and again he did the job he was paid to do.

I really don't get the 'slag eddie mcguire' brigade mindset.

I think I'm going to be sick! I'm lucky enough to be missing out on him ruining the Olympic Game coverage for Australia as I'm overseas, I wasn't at all surprised to hear that people were complaining about him already.
I don't get how anyone could like him or think that he has any form of talent, the guy doesn't have a brain, let a lone talent!:thumbdown::thumbdown:

I have to admit that I found Eddie rather annoying. Hardly Des Lynam!

I hope he was supervised.
