Is e Bay safe to purchase ???
Hi,
Is it safe to pay money through e Bay ? I mean, is it safe when we are providing our credit/debit card details to purchase ?
How about the gurantee that we will get the goods after purchasing ?

Then yes it is safe. If the goods don't arrive, you get Paypal protection.

Just dont buy any thing from someone who has muliti listings of the same 20 things, no feed back and no "real" photo. Even if you pay with paypal you are not always safe. They wait a week empty then pay pal account andgo NARUéd and you will struggle to get your cash off pay pal.
Never pay by bank deposit for any amount that you are not prepared to loose.
Always check the sellers Feed back if its a more expensive item and communicate with them first if you are unsure
I have been e baying (buying and selling) for 6 years and have sold over 2000 things. I have only had one item never get to me and never had an item not recieved by my buyer.....

How much Pay Pal charge for a transaction ? Is it a percentage of value of the item or fixed amount ?

My last transaction had a 5.1% conversion rate cost.
IE: I had to pay US$112.50
The FX rate at the time was 0.99059, meaning it should have cost me A$111.44
It actual cost me A$117.20, as they used a rate of 1.0517.

Beware of hidden postage charges on eBay, I got burnt once buying from Asia, now I put Australia only if I want something from here.

I once bought something from ebay via Paypal for around £900, it never arrived, and the seller (who had 100% feedback for 500+ high value sales), never responded, I think their account had been hacked, after my purchase lots of negative feedback started to happen.
Paypal refunded all the money, it took about 3 weeks for them to complete their investigation (all by email).
I'm still using ebay.
