Dr Who

Just a word for those looking to catch the start of the new series on 1st Sept.

ABC TV are being their usual useless selves and only showing the episode on TV a week late. However, in a fit of obtuse sense they ARE showing it on iView almost immediately after it shows in the UK (just after 5am). No mucking about with iPlayer/VPN/BT, but also not that hot in resolution terms.

Providing you have flash and can access their site, you can watch near real time.

I read this too and think it's a great idea, the WDTV has an iView widget.

This could be the beginning of a model for the future of broadcasting.

I've hacked flash and a browser that will display it onto my N7 - watch it in bed then roll over and go back to sleep... :D

DD is weirdly excited by the fact. I don't mind waiting another week- unless pouty Pond is removed, in which case it can't come soon enough.

What's the problem with seeing it a week late? How does it matter? We'll be transfixed anyway and look forward to someone's departure. Oops spoiler alert.

Because some nerfherder will inevitably post major plot devices and spoliers that you will need to avoid for a week before you watch it. The net has made TV show spoilers very easy now :(

People still watch t.v.?

Mine is collecting dust because nobody has touched it in over 2 years. Why watch t.v. when you can just watch everything online?

Better than Billie Piper, though. OH is delighted since he found that he can watch Dr Who on demand on the telly through the XBox. He's only got in to it recently and was astounded when I told him it was an old kid's programme. I think we might be watching this early in the morning...

Because if you're sensible you route your video entertainment through to the telly to take advantage of the big screen and decent sound system.

Yeah, I just didn't find her very believable. I like Pond, and I have the vague recollection that I really liked Sophie Aldred. #showingmyage

What? You are young- I remember Patrick Troughton the second doctor!!! John Pertwee, the third doctor was the one I grew up with, and then the unique Tom Baker. I once spent a year knitting a scarf like his.

Jelly baby?

Well that was a good episode, and the iView thing worked well - hope they keep it up each week.

So just because you see it the same time as the UK, and I queried why it mattered, you felt the need to tell us it's a good episode and post a trailer? Nice one, thanks for that. Unsubscribe.
