Ironing isn't hard its just mind numbing! Like all of the other tasks I choose to avoid...The weekly shop, Cooking, ironing.... I prefer renovating and gardening and football...In fact i think I'm a man!!

The weekly shop is tedious. My view is that people are happy to watch the box (which I find numbing)so might as well do the ironing as well.

It's only shirts I do, has to be said.

Soon after SWMBO and I got married she refused to do the ironing, stating that I could iron better than she could - she'd seen my ironing when I was single. A little while afterwards her eldest brother came to visit and I joked/teased that his sister didn't do ironing. Next thing I knew, SWMBO was taking out the ironing board and doing the ironing. Turns out the brother gave her a good talking to .

Yeah? If my brother gave me a 'talking to' about me ironing for my husband I'd tell him to piss off!

And that's exactly what my sister would have done . It must have been a SE Asian culture thing . SWMBO's British in her own right but maybe he was worried that I would send her back?

I am no good at ironing. I always burn everything - the bottom of the iron is covered with burnt on stuff.

Such a shame - I'd love to be able to iron my OH's clothes, but for some reason he would rather do it himself
