Cool Does time go by slower in Oz?

This last two weeks have been the longest two weeks in my whole life. I am guessing it is because when we initially went down the visa trail, the move was supposed to be made by the two of us. Certain circumstances have meant I have had to make the move on my own. I arrived two weeks today. Settleing in has been harder then I ever imagined. Has anyone else noticed how in the imortal words of Madonna time goes by so slowly?

I am in Melbourne, and no - its just me. Don't get me wrong, I have a couple of freinds here, and family in Brisbane. But the transition moving here, from where I was before [a very high paced city] is quite hard to deal with. When I am with people, it feels like I am not there in spirit. I know it will pass, but just wondered if anyone else felt anything similiar time wise.

Yes I felt it was much slower, but that was what I liked.

When I went shopping, no need to rush to the counter before the old lady with her drag along wheely trolley etc

I just felt the pace was at a more 'normal' rate which gave me time to enjoy things more, reflect on things, look at the bigger picture and appreciate what we had and what life was all about

I was here (in Melbourne) for 7 weeks before my partner came over (had to sell the house). I had so much to do, sorting everything out, and starting a new job that time whizzed by generally, though some days felt slow while I waited ( and when I wasn't busy) think that's the key.
Once things were sorted...time began passing at a 'normal' pace.

give it time ,it's like all things, you have to adjust to them ,they dont adjust to you,use it to your advantage. and enjoy the time, you'll soon enjoy what you have now, hope you enjoy it all soon and like i say , you have to adjust to things, so make what life you want, for your-self and it'll all come right.

take the time out to make what you want of it all and socialise as much as you can , coz you know what ,people and happineess cant find you , you have to find them, they arnt looking for you etc, sorry had a drink, but still hope it helps .

No not yet, but this time next week I could very well be!
I know Melbourne has alot to offer, its a great city. It just seems that in the last country I lived in eveything was so fast paced, a day would fly by and all you had done was get out of bed. Its a strange feeling.

Where did you come from? (I'm nosey )

Time to take stock - and have some time for you....before you know it, you'll get in the swing of things, and wonder how you managed before

I do get your point - I came from England ....which is the same size as Victoria ...but has a population of nearly 61 million.

Have a look at the meet-ups thread .....there is a Melbourne meal being arranged for the 3rd of August. Pass some time, and meet some of us too - is that a good thing ?

can i just add, being a little piddled im gonna speak my mind, so dont please take offence ( or a gate) soz coulndnt resist, you are so young, ok you dont know the place or anybody but please do accept invitations as you may meet some brill people at them and learn something from them, better to regret something you've tried than something you havent, good luck and take care.
