Right guys and girls as some may know our house sale is going thru and as such its getting closer to booking our flights etc....
well here is the plan if house goes thru with no hiccups
lots of thought and sleepless nights has gone into this idea...
basically the plan is as follows from booking flights and landing in perth with just our suitcases and clothes in em we are gonna rent a apartment for 3 or4weeks and in which time (starting from the 26th ish of september) get the little lad into school for the 13th oct look for some were to rent as well as buying bits and bats for a house plus buying a car and also looking for work for both of us,this sounds so simple when i write it down but so complicated in my head lol and also getting medicare for us and changing my license over to a aussie one does this sound like a good way of going about things to anyone else or should we be doing somat differently??
we are bricking it now as we are landing (and only knowing the 3 of us) in a completely different country it justs seems so scary as we dont even have knifes and forks to eat with

i am to presume there is plenty of other people in the same boat and was in the same boat so also wondering how you did it ie maybe get some were to rent before landing or finding a job before landing?? any help/advice would be highly appreciated cheers gerry

Ahh just go for it you will be fine. You will be amazed at what you can do. Don't hold back and enjoy your new life. There will be loads of hiccups, but keep going. Good luck to you.

Gird your loins and jump in with both feet. You soon get used to that falling sensation in the pit of your stomach.
Don't worry about the knifes and forks they're not manditory here.

in that time we have our own house and a business, (if we can do it anyone can
) not easy to begin but determination will get you there. I wish you the very best of luck

Hi, we moved over to QLD only 8 weeks ago, Yes it's tough because to start with you only have each other, but that soon changes and yes you come across the odd problem, but its usually not difficult to solve, like finding a rental, we got a rental after only 2 weeks, 3 weeks in OH got a job and our son is happily in school. Now as i say wev'e been here 8 weeks and i have just finally decided to look for work myself, purely because i needed to ensure i was there for my son until he settled properly, which he has. I wish you all the best and please don't stress people will help you as much as they can to help you settle in.

Hi try looking for a relocation agent that is what me & wife do we supply accomadation, get you started with medi care,, driving liecence, center link, jobs, schools ect. We are on hand most days to help you get on your feet. As we are in south brisbane we cant help, but if you do a web seach iam sure you will find a service like mine, most companys try & keep cost cheaper than a good hotel but you get somone to hold your hand for a few weeks   Gary

I'd at the very least have some kind of holiday accomodation in place before you get here.....then at least you have somewhere to rest your jet-lagged heads when you arrive rather than have to sort something out with heaps of luggage in tow.
Yes it is all rather daunting and what felt like fun in the planning stages suddenly becomes very scary and real.....bit like playing knock down Ginger and getting caught lol!
