Hi, I have a job with mater mothers in Brisbane, i want to live within walking distance to a beach but with a maximum 1 hr drive or rail commute into work, is this possible??? please bare in mind shifts tend to begin at 7 am or 7 pm so rail would need to be running early. We have two young girls so also need good primary schools, we have mainly looked at redcliffe so far and not really considered south of brisbane, is redcliffe doable and do yuo have any other recommendations cheers Yvonne

You could get from Redcliffe to the Mater in an hour at those times of the day (any accident on the road would probably leave you up shit creek though). Also you have to remember that Redcliffe is NOT your ideal golden aussie beach though! for those picture perfect beaches you need to be looking at the Gold or Sunshine coast and then the commute becomes an issue.
