Interested in starting a little chat group on msn when it gets a little quiet. I am used to working in an office environment and am now working from home. I get loads done but, at times, I miss the chat.

Anyone in a similar situation?

I've just started working from home but unfortunately I can't go on MSN, it's a works computer and it doesn't permit you to download it

They have given us a programme like MSN it's called communicator but it's only to chat with colleagues.

How long have you been working from home? I only started last week, at the moment I'm enjoying the peace and quiet and the 2 hours I save in travel every day

Been working from home since the beginning of August. Shame about MSN for you. My boss has been great and has let me install MSN and Skype and web cam

They want us to have web cams so we can relate to people in the office, I don't want one, I'm quite enjoying working in shorts and a vest top! If we get web cams I'm going to have start dressing properly again!

I have a video conference every couple of days with various work colleagues, if they could only see the bottom half!!

You could always do what Des Lynam used to do and only where business attire from the waist up then wear shorts from the waist down

I worked from home exclusively for 11 years. Loved it. Didn't miss the commute, the chat, the interruptions, other people's conversations, unnecessary meetings, phones ringing all day etc. one iota.

Luckily I never had to have a web-cam, never had to check-in and was more-or-less left to my own devices. Mind you, plenty of couriers would get a shock when I answered the door whilst still in my dressing gown at lunchtime.

I occasionally commute now to work in a giant open-plan office and I loathe it.
