Exclamation Do you live your life in cyber land?

I must confess years ago when i first joined this site and i was craving information about getting to oz i virtually lived on this site, even opened up my own cafe bar which was well used.
However when i got back to studying i found i had so little time to partake in this forum or any others that im registed with. Although i still manged to keep my blog going.
So recently when i found i needed some info for finally migrating i knew where to come, almost like coming back to a second home. Or at least i thought that would be what it would be like.
However i have found a lot of changes, people are no longer on who i used to chat with but new people with different experiences are in their place.
Ive never been one for heated discussions but it has saddened me to read so many negative threads about BE. Maybe people are spending too much of their time on the forum out of boredom or whatever , but it is not nice to see.
I certainly have never known squabbling so much. Luckily i never really missed all the problems with logging on to BE when there were issues. Maybe that is because if i couldn't get on i took it as i sign i should be doing something in the real world and not on the cyber world.
I have made so many friends, some who i have had the fortune to meet in real life. Others, i may never meet , none the less i feel as thought they are friends who can offer support and help when needed.
I hope the Australia section can get back to being like it was, as this forum is a great resource and i have reccomened this site in the past to many people. However at the moment i would be reluctantent to do so when there is so much bickering going on. For what it is worth ive never had a problem with the moderation on the site, but its not something i would want to do. I find it hard keeping my 3 kids from fighting in the real world never mind sorting out hot headed in cyber land.
thats me off my soap box and back to see what is happeing in real life.
See ya when i see ya

I think Cyberland is a totally different culture. A bit like when you go to Spain but without the Sangria and sun

I have my own place in Cyberland and I cannot imagine otherwise.

I venture into Leslies pub in the 'Docile Trollope' in the lounge, I like the regulars and the general banter.

Some people say 'get a real life' - well when I am on my own in my house while Mr PP is at work, I consider some of my cyber friends on here very real indeed.

If someone dares to tell me that the likes of Gobbjock, Sam, Streaks, Sorchar et al and the others that I have met are not real people then I wont be happy.

The person behind the keyboard is very real indeed, how they choose to portray themselves is another matter.

I have met heaps of people from this site and many are just like their cyberperson.

So for me, coming on here of an evening while sipping my coffee and laughing at various posts is just the same as socialising with the girls at work, just doing it differently.

I love it, some of my posts come from the heart, some of them come from my naughty side and some of them are the utter bollocks I take from my cyber stories - usually the smut.

I love cyberland and it is an extension of my social life, I dont hurt anyone by being part of it and consider myself lucky to have met cyberpals and built friendships from them.

Now I am off to make a coffee and climb back on the cyber sofa.

Anyway, frienship is frienship - no matter what form it takes.

excellent view - some of the replies I have received on this site have been as uplifting as a real hug when you are feeling at your lowest. You feel like people are replying from the heart. My thanks go out to all my 'cyber buddies' - keep the replies flowing. Diz x
