[QUOTE=russmcp]Do I feel lonely? Yeah I do, however I am in the UK! Things are pretty bad at the mo and if can go wrong it all seems to be. The main thing is my mother in law (though i'm not married to my partner but you know what I mean) has only got a few weeks to live it would seem. She is riddled with cancer and my poor partner (who is a nurse) is falling to bits and its a bloody heart breaker. Not much I can do for her but be around but I feel so damn useless,

I don't think your being useless , sounds like your being superbly supportive :)

Awww iPOM I didnt know you were feeling like this! I dont live far from you and I love a good bottle of wine a and a good slag off of the other half! :D

I've got a friend here who just doesnt get the 'slagging off' thing. Shes an Aussie and we get on really really well but I know that EVERYTHING I say or do she tells her hubby about! WTF is all that about!! Sometimes I forget to say hello to my hubby let alone tell him my mates friggin life story!! :D

I'm lucky enough to have a lot of friends around here who also came from the UK to work at the same place as hubby but I also like to get involved with the Aussies as much as possible too - I do struggle with their sense of humour sometimes though I must admit but I just smile in the right places (well I hope I do anyway!! :D )

I'm having a 'pamper party' on 7th Feb mate if you're interested (while the kids are at school!!). Its a long way off I know but you're more than welcome.

Maybe we could arrange a night out for somewhere half way between yours and mine? Where would that be?

Other half also has a set of golf clubs and a Huge bag of balls that I would be happy to draw faces on!! :D

Speak to you soon

Rach xxxx

PS - I still get lonely even though I have a lot of people around me. :o

Hi hon... I'm not constantly morose or morbid or anything... just once in a blue moon. No doubt today I shall kick some serious ass again. But it's good it's not just me and that other people feel it too. I guess it's important for the people in the UK to read too, if they're considering hopping over here.
Between you and me would probably be Penrith? I don't know - And Ive never had a night out down there before but I'd be willing to try... :D
Pamper party sounds good.... I can get a freedom voucher!

I had a 'friend' in the uk who just didn't get me talking about my hub... she'd defend him all the time to me and I was like 'ok, this isn't working is it?!'
She was one I was happy to leave behind.

But no one bothers coming which i find hard to understand.
Im going to be on the move again soon as hubby is getting moved on and this time i will be going with him back to army housing. Simply because im more lonley without him than i ever was with him.
We have been married for 16 years and together for 19. my friends compare us to a comfy pair of old slippers .
If you ever want some one to moan to just let me know :D

Hi Mandy... yeah, that party thing is weird isn't it? You do the invites and hardly anyone's interested. I had a phase of doing those with a friend for Virgin Vie makeup/jewellry. It was ok but once the novelty of it had worn off, people weren't really interested much.

My hub and I have been together 12. We're probably more like a pair of worn hiking boots with a lace missing, but what I'd really like to be is a glitzy pair of F**k-me heels. :D
