Default DIY - SOS

Helllllllllllp!! The contents of my kitchen cupboard are strewn all over the floor, the floor which is under an inch of water, the water which is a lovely red colour from the fresh blood pouring out of my finger . Ok - the blood loss is stemmed but what the fiddle de dee do i do about my knackered taps!!! No water coming out of cold tap so i decided to investigate. Took handle bit of tap off and on closer inspection decided that the thread on the inside has worn away (HOW??) so isnt turning the thingy ma jig to let the water out! SO in my infinate wisdom decide i can mend it . Hence the wet floor, bloody finger and lack of kitchen sink - oh and to make matters worse had to turn water off at mains to stop the leak. Not sure but i fink i bitten off more than i can chew - now need to take the whole tap off to replace with a new one BUT do i REALLY have to remove the whole sink first??? which also means removin the dish washer from its slot and disconnecting teh waste pipe??????????? OH S***T!!! On occassions I really do appreciate men have their positive qualities - I neeeeeeeeeeeed one
