I've only been here a month and i'm on a 457 which is going to be changed to a ENS visa after 6-12months
managed to get a job through and agency, they have sponsored me, paid for my flight, salary sacrificed my wifes flight and generally been brilliant, the md even flew up from melborne to brisbane and took us out to dinner ..
I like the job but the money is very poor compared to what i was on back home ... we can manage but managing is the best way to describe it
Heres the dilema:-
the company i left in the uk has an aussie office in brisbane and they have just won a massive contract and have asked me in for an interview .. better money .. same deal with the visa .. better long term prospects .. working with people i know on a system i know ..
i feel rotten even considering going for the interview (obviosuly not a dead cert i'll get the job) as the agency who got me over here have been fab .. plus the people i work with are sound BUT i feel that i should at least go for the interview as it will be better long term for me and my family .. is not just about the money!!!
what do you guys think ???

It might be best to discuss it with your boss, once you're sure it's a sure thing. Ask him what would he do in your position? You've got to look after your self and yours and if someone takes umbridge at that then they're bloody stupid.
Just be certain that it is the right move, you won't get left high and dry, and that your current company can't shaft you for the expenses incurred in getting you here.
Good luck.

Mate, I would go for your old company if it was me but only you know where your heart and moreover where you will be more happy because money is not everything. Or alternatively flip a coin or collate all the replies to your post and go with the majority.

My father years and years ago, probably in the early 70's said to me, on the advent of my first job. Doesn't matter how good your job is, at the end of the day you are only there for the money. If things get tough for your employer, they will get rid of you.
35 years later, experience has taught me thats about the best advice he ever gave me. Loyalty to ones self, is the first priority.
I've been made redundant twice now, by new technology.

its a hard one .. the company i worked for in the UK are one of the biggest software suppliers to the healthcare market .. i worked there on and off for 12years so i know the ins and outs .. it would be confortable and the prospects are better ... the money IS better and of course thats a factor as it will give me and my family a better life here which is my number one priority
BUT i also feel like i owe the agency one as well, i may not have got over here if they had not sponsored me (an internal transfer was an option but after 12months waiting in never materialised)
bottom line is i guess if i do get the job and decided to take it i'll end up paying any costs to the agency so that they are not out of pocket .. that may make me feel a little better
*excuss my waffling ... i'm just thinking aloud and posting it on here!!!*

anyway, I would not worry about agencies. They are a bunch of arseholes and they would screw you over as quickly. Also bare in mind that they did not pay the costs. They would have passed it on to your employer.

to be honest i'm probably worrying over nothing .. i been told i'm up against 4 other people in the interview and i reckon i'd easily be the most expensive .. so 12years in the company or not .. the aussie branch will probably say sling it !!!

There's no such thing as loyalty anymore. Any company would sack you if things weren't going well. Take the merceniary option and do what's best for you.

Loyalty is a thing of the past - everyone is disposable.
