I'm always surprised how different tea can be around the world - doesn't it all come from the same place?
I went to the US in 2006. Friend of mine in Chicago asked me to bring over the biggest pack of PG tips that I could find saying that American tea tastes like dirt. I laughed thinking how bad can it really be.
Anyway, in the US I made myself a cuppa in the hotel I was staying in and thought - wow - American tea really does taste like dirt
Perhaps the 'tea' part of the harvest goes to the UK, while all the bits fallen down the back of the processing machine get swept out and sent to the US

Yorkshire teabags are available round these parts. The missus has few blighty-based requirements, but a strong cup of tea is one of them. The world would stop turning without that morning brew ...

Oh I dunno? A fair few years ago, on a stag-night in Wakefield, I saw a girl who could quite easily piss through the eye of a needle whilst standing up.
She did choose an odd location (covered entrance of a branch of the Bradford & Bingley building society) to demonstrate her extraordinary skills and I'm really glad to be able to say that she's probably somebody else's wife now...

Could be worse, was it the Coors factory in Colorado which got in trouble for dumping chemicals in the water and poisoning people? Probably just their beer!

When we first got here we used to buy Yorkshire tea from David Jones (luckily they had 100% extra free ones for a about a year so it wasn't to horribly expensive). Then a pommie friend recommended Aldi round tea bags and we have been buying them ever since and find they make a remarkably good cup of tea.

Dilmah Earl Grey CR@p. eh?
Dilmar Extra Strong all right though
I hate Tetely & P.G Tips - Rubbish
Yorkshire Gold.......... I wouldn't buy one for myself. you can't go wrong with Yorkshire Gold though.
Ahmad's Afternoon tea is sometimes good. But Victorian Afternoon is bloody horrible.
I feel Twining is generally cr@p. However, last night I bought a large box of Twining Aromatics CHAI tea bags (UK). quite expensive - it's decent quality.
as far as Earl Grey goes, We do have Seriously Nice Earl Grey (NZ blending) here - That is the BEST Earl Grey I've ever had in my life. I don't know the name though - will have to find out.
By and large the tea taste much better in NZ than Oz (IMHO) - because it's too cold here and reminds me of England. I don't drink tea when it's stinking hot.
I used to love Bushell tea though while living in Oz.

Mum still sends me a box of PG tips once or twice a year from UK, standard fare of liptons / twinings / teleey here seems weak in comparison. People at work laugh at me for bringing my own tea bags as there is always a full supply of lipton or twinings there.
When I run out of PG, Dilmahs is the fallback option.
Hope this helps.

Dilmah Extra Strong is a good brew.
Tetley British Blend.........pah..... they should be done under the trade descriptions act for trying to pass that muck off as a decent cuppa.
Imported PG for me!
