Well aye he did hang from the door, but they reckon it was just a straight forward suicide, rather than autoerotic asphyxiation. Nothing hanging from any bits or other evidence to prove otherwise.

It was ruled a suicide by the Coroner but both his family and Paula Yates tried to have that verdict overturned, believing it to be an auto-erotic asphyxiation.

I guess given the choice between the other half dying getting his rocks off, or being at the point of such despair that he topped himself, I'd rather he hadn't died needlessly in the first place so neither is much of a choice.
Dealing with the death of a husband/partner/son/brother, especially when there are small children involved is terribly distressing no matter what the circumstances.

His mother and sister believed and still do to this day that is was suicide.
I think suicide is an easier option to have to explain to his daughter, rather than that possibly her father died from a sexually related game gone wrong!
