Re: Cricket World Cup 2011 Thread- Who will win?
Voted Sri Lanka. Think India have the best team on paper but their fielding is about as good as Monty Panesar with both arms tied behind his back. They have a lot of players to hide in the filed when bowling and I think this will hurt them in the end as those 20/30 runs an innings will make the difference in at least one of the knockout matches. Also agree that the Aus (and maybe SA) lack of spinner will cost them and you never know just which Pakistan team will turn up on the day.
I see 2 people voted for Canada (where I live). Patriotism/loyalty is alive and well here then. Reminds me of the majority of England's population during a football World Cup.

I will predict India v England in the final. Pakistan and South Africa also in the last 4.

Re: Cricket World Cup 2011 Thread- Who will win?
Been a couple of days since I mentioned cricket so ...
Australia beaten by India in World Cup warm-up, middle order collapsed to the spinners, Punter complains of dodgy pitch, Indian quick gets up Punter's nose again.
Sign of things to come? The 'Pace Battery' might not be the way to go? Maybe some, er, spinners, would have been better?
I'd like to see Ireland win a few by the way ...

Beautiful work by the Indians. Spin is still our biggest weakness. I imagine a few teams are re-assessing their bowling attack right now.

Australia's bowlers didn't take a single wicket in there loss to SA. That sounds bad.

It's got to be between India, SA or Sri Lanka and my money would still be on Sri Lanka as an outside chance.
