Aye, professionally finished off but sad to see the Windies in this state.

I remember watching Marshall, Garner & Co play an exhibition game in Gillingham, Kent many years ago. I must have been about 10 and those guys were awesome.

And welcome back fair weather sailor. ;) Good England recovery after Steyn's early 2 wickets.

No need to pray, the Saffers have had their day in the sunshine which will eventually be reflected in the rankings. Meanwhile I see some other team has scored over 500 in the 1st innings in 8 of their last 9 home tests - often losing only 3 or 4 wickets in the process.

Against the very best, top quality opposition too - respect

It's glaringly obvious that your knowledge of test cricket is extremely limited but equally clear that you have a bit of enthusiasm for the game. I like that

Even more respect

Is it welcome back Stuart Broad? ;)

Steve Smith went past Cook as leading run scorer for 2015 yesterday with Smith's tonne and Cooks duck.

But ....... the margin is tight and its unlikely Smith will get a bat again this year. Cook probably will.

Indeed it is!

One innings match with England effectively 3/261 at the mo - this surely can't be the best test nation playing at home can it especially after they displayed in India how 'good they were away'? :p

184, 109, 214, 79, 185, 121, 143, 214, 174 .....

214 the best score in the last 9 test innings; 8 tests in 2015 for one win, 1st of the year vs Windies.

You wouldn't consider coming out of retirement Jacques would you? Please. ;)

Australia have enjoyed beating the best team in the world for years. Now England is jumping on the train. So much fun :)

Yep but they couldn't beat Pakistan and we had a shocker vs the old enemy.

Yes, it is sad to see. I very much favour splitting the Test-playing nations into two divisions, with one team relegated from the first division every couple of years and replaced by the top of the second division. All the sport's statistics are distorted by the inclusion of the weaker teams - Zimbabwe, Bangla Desh, and now West Indies.
