Now that would be an achievement. It would also make you quite old, and apparently age makes the difference :)

A good 6 wickets by Hazzlleewud today. Great comeback from the Ashes disappointment. Not really a disappointment though. 16 wickets from 4 matches is good compared to the others in the series. But with the style he bowls with he should have done better in England.

Test team of the Year.

No Saffa's, 2 Kiwi's, 3 Poms, and a token Indian at 12th man to keep the administration happy.

ICC Test, one-day international teams of 2015, Steve Smith named in ICC Test and ODI teams of 2015 but Alastair Cook named Test captain

All sounds pretty fair to me. One would think there is a better captain than Alistair Cook in the world. Clearly he's not there for his batting :)

Probably mostly understandable, SA have only won 1 test in 2015 and drawn 3 and lost 2, about to be 3 if it doesn't rain for a few days (over 200 behind on 1st innings and skittled out for a low score again) so not surprising re 2015 test team. Alastair Cook captained a winning Ashes team; Steve Smith didn't so I guess this is why he was selected captain. AB #1 rated test batsman but not in team - like SA #1 test status obviously based on pre 2015.

In 2015 Pakistan have won 5, drawn 2 and lost 1; England have won 5, lost 6 and drawn 2; Australia have won 6 and lost 3.

Why would you even consider Steve Smith for captain? He's only notched up a handful of appearances as captain.

I guess Cook is the best choice right now. Not a great captain and as I said one would hope there was a better captain in world cricket. Obviously not.

Well, I'm from the school of 'if the captain isn't good enough to be in the team on merit as a batsman, bowler or wicketkeeper then you pick your captain from those who are'. India and Pakistan have changed their captain during the year as well so I'm guessing the choice for captain was between Cook and Smith (and Kohli, McCullum ...).

When do the rankings get updated to show the 0-3 in India and 2-0 in Australia? ;)

Your lack of knowledge of test cricket is still glaringly obvious

Ranking were updated immediately after Australia's series win and they are now 2nd

Rankings will be updated after India's win by the end of the day probably. I think they go 2nd, Australia 3rd

Well done to India, they thoroughly deserved to win this series. We were shit

At least we've never lost a follow on test to them. Now that's seriously embarrassing

72 runs in 72 overs, then to fall for 143 ..... that's embarrassing.

Not at all

At least we fought in this test - there's no embarrassment in losing a game like this, on a pitch that was really favouring their spinners

Pity we didn't show a bit more fight in 1 and 3 - and we would probably have lost 2 if not for the rain. A poor series for us - we bowled okay but our batting was appalling

At least we're still No.1 (Australia lost a series there including a follow-on test when they were top and at the peak of their powers, so don't read too much into it)

England at home next, on our pitches - I think we're going to give them a poes klap

Au contraire, you show a lack of comprehension - my question was when will the rankings reflect both of those results. Obviously when they are updated for the series finishing today it will be reflected - don't take things too literally and realise when you are being reminded how poorly the #1 test nation has performed in 2015 (1 win in 7 tests played).

AB, Amla, Du Plessis, Duminy etc... and they are out for under 100 or 150 for virtually the last 5 or 6 innings. It can't just be put down to 'spinners wicket' as I thought Morkel bowled particularly well in India's 2nd innings and Yadav bowled well too. Rahane managed a ton in each innings and AB batted for a long time so hardly unplayable.

You told us how great SA were away from home and look what happened. England are no gimme by any stretch of the imagination.

Looks like you'll be supporting England then (praying for them more like)!

We've got a great away record but we've lost a series. It's a big deal but onwards and upwards. Let's cast our minds back to Australia's losing tour of India in 2001, at the peak of their power - in particular this little game (look at that Aussie A-list team roster):
2nd Test: India v Australia at Kolkata, Mar 11-15, 2001 | Cricket Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo

Australia stayed No.1 for a long time after - but uber-embarrassing all the same

Rankings have been updated (patience turbo, patience):
1 SA
2 IN
3 AU

Windies to come - we'll see the rankings or rather the gap between us, India and SA after that. According to the press Australia has to win the series against the Windies 3-0 to move ahead of India who they are one point behind - go figure that.

Oh dear, it's just not cricket but I guess it is partly to do with bowling a maiden over and being in slips etc:

Cricket South Africa's Facebook page hacked, bombarded with explicit content

That's hilarious.

Can you edit your post to put a NSFW warning on it please? If not, I can do it.
