It was a funny game, Australia v Pakistan. Fielding may have made the difference: Australians excellent, Pakistan not so much. I expect Oz to win the whole thing - but I am not going to bet the farm on it.

South Africa and New Zealand don't rate? I've always felt India are too reliant on their batters and don't have the bowlers to dismiss us for less than they make but only time will tell.

That bowling spell from Riaz was amazing. Had his fieldsman helped him, it could have been a different result.

Agreed actually, I was very impressed as where many others it seems. Too many dropped catches and missed chances to capitalise on that brilliance however.

Faff out (sorry love that name)

Great catch in the gully.

MSI Geek what's the prediction?

Correction: One eye on cricket one eye on work. Faff not out, AB in smashing should start

At the end Brendon McCullum could have said "...and I'd like to thank Duckworth and Lewis for their contribution in saving us from de Villiers..."

Great game though.

Great game though.
But De Villiers went a long way to losing the game for SA in botching the run out attempt - not to mention the keeper doing the same - not to mention Duminy running into the guy about to catch - not to mention SA only having 4 bowlers and De Villiers being the 5th bowler. The look in De Villiers eyes when he botched the run out to me said we're going to lose. SA bottled again. Interesting to see 4 or 5 giving the captain's team talk too.

McCullum could have also said, 'Dale Steyn, world's best bowler?'

Great game, very exciting and I'm glad the Kiwis made the final. Now, fingers crossed for the 2nd semi.

The D/L calculation actually raised the target score for NZ, if I remember correctly. 289 from 43 overs against SA is not exactly a walk in the park! Kiwis had to dig deep for this win, and they fought every step of the way.

It's not that simple though. The worthless duck system can never take into account strategy. (ok, no teams ever have strategy).

Also a spare day set aside in case there is rain, but rather reduce the overs than use it. I just don't get it.

But hey, I'm Oz now and will support Australia.
