Absolutely...... Australia rarely lose in Brisbane if it's if Brisbane is the first test. Plenty of tests and different conditions to come

oh shit, I hadn't heard that one. Trouble is if Australia lose too many top tier players, they'll be in a win/win position. I'd rather England have a crack at a full strength Australia. So that'll be Smith captaining for the second test.

Great chance to level the series, I wonder what imaginative way we can **** it up

Steve Smith will captain, with Travis Head as vice captain.

Michael Neser called up to bowl

Shouldn't even be in the field, never mind as Captain. Him and Warner should've been banned for life.

it always gripes me that the only one whose international career was cut short was Cam Bancroft, thrown to the wolves while the other two have in essence carried on as if nothing happened. It's pretty unfair IMO.

Utter nonsense. You’d have to ban several test teams of English players if that was the case.

Good disciplined start from the poms, Warner looks like he doesn't want to be there, neither would I with bruised ribs

I'm no fan of Australian cricket - or those two - but no, that would be ridiculous. Even the punishment they did receive was far too harsh. Never forget that England players - Mike Atherton springs to mind - have been caught ball-tampering and they received very mild punishments - maybe banned for a few games. Typical Cricket Australia showing off as usual with OTT punishments

Ball-tampering is totally wrong but the punishment has to fit the crime

Sure but Bancroft is a journeyman player who's place will always be under threat. If he was still performing, he'd still be playing. Love them or loathe them but Smith and Warner are genuine cricket stars
