Default Courtesy for Prince William

I have recently read an article which gave advice on how to interact with Prince William during his Australian tour. Amongst the advice was how to dress, bow, curtsy etc. for the Prince.

Following the online article there were a range of reader comments... many of them suggesting they would never show such courtesy to Prince William as they didn't believe he warranted their efforts.

I think it's sad that these people voice such disrespect for a man who may well become their King.

Regardless of whether you support a republic or not, do you think Prince William deserves to be treated Royally? Would you bow or curtsy to him?

I'd shake his hand and be polite but there's no way I'd bow and I guarantee if he ever visited my fire brigade none of the blokes would bow either.

Would they put him out if he was on fire?

I do support the monarchy, however I am not sure I'd bow to him (although I would be inclined to get rid of my tatty clothes and dress up a bit beforehand). However I'd definitely treat him with a lot of respect as I personally think he is a nice guy.

I reckon he's lucky if he gets a few 'g'day mate's and his name abbreviated to Willo or Billo

I think royalty should chuck in the towel and accept no one gives a toss anymore.

I agree with Renth - shake his hand, be polite etc but I would never bow or call him your highness or whatever it is - William or Mr Windsor would be enough. My wife's best friend works with the army as a physio, and has treated him and his brother, and she says that neither of them expect or respect all the royal bullshit.

So why are the Australian media and a lot of politicians wetting themselves with excitement because he is visiting?
