Cockroaches

I was heating up tea for my OH when he said "Stand very still."
Overcoming my immediate impulse to move I stood still. He then used some kitchen towel and attacked my head.......
There was a cockroach crawling in my hair!!!!
UGH- I had to have a shower. No idea where the thing came from or how long it had been there, but now I have to check all my cupboards and dismantle the cooker hood.
I still feel unclean.

Pretty close to my idea of hell on earth.

yuck - I came back from the UK after 8 weeks off the boat to a massive infestation a couple of years ago. They were all over the walls and had made nets. Despite doing the bombs for days I was like Ripley on the Nostromo firing mortein at the things.
A stiff drink can wash away memories like that.

I had a cockroach on my head once.
Had a strange tickling on my head. Felt around but couldn't feel anything. Asked my kids if they could see anything. They said no, nothing there. Two minutes later I felt it again and flicked a huge cockroach off my head.
Kids reckoned it was well-camouflaged.
So now my hair is known in our family as cockroach-colour.

Apparently some posters have had them dig right through to the other side

One bonus of now living in Perth is that they are tiny things compared to huge MFkers of QLD!

i havent seen roaches and flies for a while. i think these roaches are looking for damp warm humid areas of the house so it's important not only to keep your house clean but also well ventilated.

I get the outside of the house poisoned yearly without fail - it is with pleasure when I see dying roaches/spiders writhing around outside.
I hate them and see no purpose in roaches.

I was standing talking to my niece in the kitchen and I noticed her eyes looking down at my chest, I looked her in the eye and said "whats on me?", she said those dreaded words " Stand Still....... theres a cocky on your blouse!!!!'
I freaked, I screamed, pulled my blouse off... flicked the bloody thing onto my cleveage and was beside myself running around until hubbie grabbed me and showed me he had killed the HUGE thing.... honestly still gives me nightmares...

I hate those words " now don't move, stand still" especially in QLD when you know its gonna be bad
