Hi,

I'm getting pretty darn peeved - I'v posted a few messages in the last few days about SA state sponsorship and education and my OH's Career and not one person in the relevant areas have replied!

Beginning to think I don't post enough on here for people to warrant posting a reply! What does a person have to do! I have a child with Autism - I cannot sit on this forum 24/7 and become part of the furniture. But please all I'm asking for is a bit of assistance but not getting it. I thought thats what this Forum was for:curse:

Sometimes people don't reply as they are not in the same position so don't know how to help. I've posted plenty of times when there's been no reply. Don't take it personally;)

Sorry, I can't help with the info you want, as we've neither dealt with Sponsorship nor SA, but someone who can help will answer you when they have time I'm sure.

You have to take into account the time difference and most in Oz will be in bed about now :D

Hope you get the answers you're looking for.

I understand the time difference as I'v even stayed up until 1am and phoned SA DEC and spoken to them about my sons Educational needs. They were brilliant and very helpful (really friendly people there).

I am trying to find out if we get State Sponsorship to Adelaide - because this is temporary residency - will we have to pay for my sons Education & medical costs for our family?

Also posted a message about my OH's Career. He's a "Procurement Manager" in the Aerospace Industry i.e. Military, fighter jets etc. Can't seem to match his skills to the points system as it's Specialised. But when we went to the London Expo 2 wks ago - the Representatives from the SA Gov and the Manager on the Hayes stand said that SA has a great demand for "Procurement" and we won't have a problem getting in and he'll easily get a job. But main prob is - we can't seem to match it to the points system.

I was getting annoyed because I know there are LOADS of people on this forum and alot heading to SA too. There are MODS on here and Migration Agents and people who have gone through the process - but no one replied. It does get disheartening when this is the main Forum we use pertaining to our move to Adelaide. Agents don't give you much of an answer until you start handing over the cash. We'll thats been our experience. I'm not talking about Agents on here by the way - as I'v never had any contact with them.

It is very difficult to get a job in the defence/military industry without security clearance and that is difficult without citizenship.

Thanks for that - we already knew - as my OH has been through this whole process and is currently PV cleared in the UK. It was a long process and he was not allowed to commence his employment until this came back clear.

In his current job - he's got programmed security cards to get into the office and a combination lock to chain his laptop to his desk...lol seriously! If any information is divulged ref military equipment and highly confidential stuff - it's instant dismissal.

I think what Grayling meant was; if you OH wants a job in this field he will need security clearance and to get this in Aus you generally need to have citizenship.

Not sure if this is the case but there are certain jobs this does apply to. Perhaps you could do a search on the website to check it out;)

he doesnt necessarily have to work in the Military/Aerospace Industry. He's worked in Manufacturing with luxury yachts and IT Server racks. So has a variety of experience and skills in Procurement - not just i.e. BAE.

But yep I know - they are very very strict with the Security side of things. A few weeks ago there was an Ad in our local paper from an Australian Aviation company who were looking for skilled professionals and one of the areas they were looking for is "Procurement" - apparently with a Company sponsoring you in this industry - they will Vet you.

but like I say he doesnt have to work in Aerospace or Military.

i didnt see your original thread but we are heading to Adelaide too. I dont know anything about state sponsorship as we never applied for it so possbily wouldnt have applied anyway. My husband has just applied for a job in quality assurance in defence but it states citizinship necessary so i doubt he will get short listed but worth a try:thumbup:

Seen you on here loads :). thanks for your message. Where abouts are you heading for in Adelaide? We are keen on Golden Grove, Greenwith area. Been looking at some lovely houses for sale on the Real Estate website. Mmm and when I see swimming pools - makes me even more determined to get to Aussie. I grew up in South Africa - so i am used to being able to just walk out into the garden and jump into a beautiful swimming pool when it's hot. I cannot wait for that and will be in my element giving my child that enjoyment in our own home. Tend to spend so much time indoors in the UK with dull grey weather.

Lets hope we have a wave of really good luck and get into Aussie!

Bear in mind that this is a bank holiday weekend and so a lot of people arent around. People will usually answer if they can, but these were pretty specific queries - its not that people don"t want to answer, often its just that they can"t.

Hi hun we are not sure yet where we are headed lol. I keep looking and cant decide. I have family in happy valley, parkside and port noralunga south oh and a cousin in kangerilla in the sticks lol. I would love to live near the sea but we are going to wait til we get there to make a firm decision. Not long til we fly now 30th june!!:eek::thumbup:

I am meeting up tomorrow with 2 couples who are going around same time as us. This sites great for info hun and dont be afraid to ask questions. I only reply to ones i can answer usually hun. But if you want to know whats it like follow my blog as i will be updating it alot when we get there :thumbsup:

Oh and if you want specific visa advice why not message one of the agents on here? We used go matilda and i can highly recommend them x

When I was stuck with visa questions that I couldn't find the answers to I started emailing various migration agents. I just copy and pasted the same email to all of them and got loads of replies back which were really helpful and enabled me to go and apply successfully on my own.

Lots of them will give you some free help before taking you on as a client. i.e. Try before you buy.

Also try some of the other forums such as GoMatilda

Well my electricity was off all morning due to the really heavy rain so I went shopping instead. My PC won't work without Electric even though some people think it's powered by mouse (you know who you are :p)

I have no idea about state sponsorship, procurement (don't even know what that is! :o), or how much you would have to pay for schools on a temporary visa (I don't think you have to pay any more than the rest of us, but not 100% sure. Mine kids fees range from $180 - $285 per year for public school). I have given you all the info I can think off about schools and Austism too. So sorry, that's as much as I have for you I'm afraid. :)

If you do a search on the words"autism" and "autistic" I think you will find a wealth of info, as its a topic that has come up a lot.

This forum is for people to discuss moving abroad. If you require specific information and are not finding it after posting a couple of times on the same subject then perhaps it's that your topic is too specific for the other posters here. For the most part we are simply other everyday people who have emigrated. If you require specific information you should go to the relevant authorities...ImmiSA, which seems to have information on education. For your husband's job you could easily search the job listings...A Google search will give you both www.careerone.com.au and www.seek.com.au which you can search by job title, city, salary, etc. Bear in mind that Adelaide is a small city and as such there is not an abundance of professional work.

Failing finding the information on your own, you could also do like many of us have had to do and pay for the information. For health (autism) related questions you should try Ian Harrop Click Here.

Like previous posters have said your requests are very specific, people will answer when and if they can, but going off on one isnt really going to inspire people to spend their time typing their answers!!

That said I see you are heading to my neck of the woods, I really hope if you say "Hello" to me one morning I do reply or you might "rant" at me in the car park!! :rofl::rofl:

Suggest as your case is quite unique that you start parting with cash for information rather than getting arsey with folk on here who probably don't have the experience to deal with your query.

In general, if someone CAN help on here, then they WILL help!!!
There's probably a miriad of reasons why you've had no response - some of them might be that no-one knows the answer (heaven forbid!!!), or that perhaps they are out making the most of a bank holiday (heaven forbid!!!)......

The number of responses you get on here have Jack to do with the amount of posts you have made - probably quite the opposite in fact!!! :rofl: (well, in my case anyway - the more I post, the more they ignore me :o:( )

So, take a chill pill and stop being so paranoid! :)
