Hi somme,
I have tried a few of the larger builders as well as sending resumes off to several agencies. How long does it take for people to get back to you over here? I have been in the building / carpentry trade for 23 years and have never had a problem getting any sort of work due to the level of skills I have, but it seems your skill level does not matter over here neither does the fact that some of the projects are months behind because they cant find good quality people who actually work hard.

Go to the sites and go and see them otherwise you could be waiting months. You have to take the bull by the horns here, good luck.
