Cane toads are a pest in Australia, and a threat to other animals. They need to be killed humanely or otherwise.
Freeze, fork or golf club them. It doesn't matter, just get rid of them.

Cats are a pest in some places? Do you advocate sticking a fork in them too, Loch? Or would that be inhumane?

Ta for all the relpies, I looked on the Qld council site and they are not regarded as pests here.
But! I understand where you are coming from when you say ' get rid of them'.
I am just concerned its not a cane toad, I will try and get a photo tonight and post it on here.

You'd never eat from the toad again, or the freezer?

See now, that wouldn't bother me, but I'd be feeling distinctly shitty about playing a round of golf again after clubbing a load of amphibians over the back fence the night before.

The toad of course Frozen isn't the way to eat them - lightly toasted is best

Well i just get them out of the garden (or the pool as was the case on my night swim a few days ago!!!).

OH though goes for the 3 pronged hoe - makes me feel sick when he's out there with it. He won't leave it though, uses the "they are a pest" argument.

Maybe its a man thing - testosterone - hunter deprived of prey thing

My sons say its cos I am a girl I don't like things being killed!

I think if I had them, I'd be freezing them, but so far, I don't think they've made it to this bit of NSW and if they've got any sense, they'll stay away... The weather's too cold.

Put dettol in a spray bottle and spray them. They hop away and die Dont know why, they just do and salt on their backs have the same effect.

Dettol is a long slow painful death. Don't do it.

Same with salt.

Just put them in a box. It's not difficult.
