candles
decided to have some candles round my bath yesterday afternoon as I have lots of lovely beeswax ones and darned if I'm giving them away ;)
so set up every beeswax candle all around the bath light them up and lay back .. bliss!... flashing light fire alarm goes off! damn if its flashing it means its making a ruddy loud noise and the neighbours will be here in a minute to drag me out of the burning building (I'm deaf) sod it and I'm naked!! quick out the bath damn something is burning I can smell it! hell its my hair!! quick get water from the bath to throw over it! damn burnt my arm on the candles! try to put them out and wrap myself in the towel at the same time ..... yes you guessed it a severely singed towel!! meanwhile doorbell alert is flashing like mad aargh struggle into clothes on very damp body get downstairs and open the door neighbour falls in as was just about to break the door down! sheepish explanation given! that was yesterday I have just opened my door to find a gift wrapped knife from my neighbours saying if you want to kill yourself this is easier, quicker and less noisy:eek: am I ever going to live this down! someone please tell me you have made a bigger prat of yourself |

My Dad was in his dressing gown and he got a bucket of water to throw over the burning curtains while Mum opened the front door to let the smoke out. As he carried the 2nd bucket up the tiled hall he slipped on the water that had spilt. He landed on his backside and his dressing gown came open giving the neighbours who had gathered at the front door a birds eye view  |
