I agree...I've had reindeer too (in Sweden). Nice. Also, back in Canada...elk, deer, oh and bison...I miss it! I used to buy bison every week from the farmer's market. One of the vendors sold the tastiest bison smokies.

Hey, re: wild meat...I saw kangaroo for sale in Woolies. What's up with that? Is it farmed or roadkill...or??

Yeah...I have a recipe for meatballs from a genuine Swedish cookbook (it's actually written in Swedish) and the homemade ones are completely different...

 I don't think they'd use road kill  It's generally farmed although you can probably get wild from some butchers. Can't stand it myself but then I don't like any 'gamey' meat.

We may be boring but at least we're not short. Oh, and just for the record, neither my Canadian born husband nor I like either ice hockey or Molson beer.

You'll have to excuse Bernie. He's Irish.

Have you joined the Canadians Heading to Australia thread? If not, check it out. There's tons of info there as well as connections to a few other Hosers. There are 3 of us that I can think of off the top of my head who are also in Perth, so you won't be the only one in WA.

Have to correct you on this one. Biggest selling beer in OZ is that VB crap! XXXX full strength and Bitter are ok, the Gold is shite. Most Aussie beer is very disappointing and the actual good ones worth drinking are overpriced.
Thinking about Canadian beers, I didn't used to mind a drop of that Moosehead lager.
