In my case I'm wondering if anyone knows of a decent cask of sauvignon blanc (or an equivalent) for not much dosh? I've just tried looking online at Liquorland, and as is the norm for Aussie retailers, they haven't quite realised the importance of the internet in retail yet.....you know, it's only been around for over 10 years now.......
Anyway, Dan Murphy's is slightly more enlightened, with a Marlborough SB 2L for $14.99, not bad, but is it any good?
Answers gratefully received

The majority of winr that I have bought from them has been superb and very good value for money.
They currently have a mixed case of SB for $94 delivered ($7.80 a bottle)

cheers mate. I've been doing the same with cellarmasters and found some good stuff with them too tbh, but the problem with buying a case is that I get through the stuff so fast. If I open a bottle, it only tends to last about 2 days. I'm wondering whether having a cask might allow me to exercise a little bit more self control...

This is the excuse I use - however I find that instead of having, say, a bottle of wine over a weekend (if I can keep it away from eldestchild), I have a couple of glasses every night.
(oh and where on earth have you been? Missing in Action without a valid reason isn't good enough)

Make a bottle last more than one day? This is crazy talk

I bought a couple of 850ml wine glasses once just for the looks, and for the heck of being able to say I had was just one glass, when it could hold a whole bottle with some place to spare.

We keep a cask of Marlborough Sauv Blanc in the fridge from BWS. Might be Sonata brand, I can recommend it.

Actually got that wrong, Sonata is cheaper and potentially nastier. We actually use 'Dimension'.
