I actually went looking for data, Apparently the first measurements were taken in 1956... and there is some contention re whether there was a hole at that time.
Anyway I ended up at this forum....http://forum.weatherzone.com.au and depressed the crap out of myself.
The vast majority of the dedicated "home weather watch hobbyists" and a fair chunk of weather scientists reckon we are definitely approaching a "flat sun" (no sun spots apparently) 60-80 year mini Ice age. Starting about now !!!
I almost wish I hadn't read the bloody thing. How bloody ironic... some decent argument in there, I wouldn't advise reading though.

I know what you mean. I, unfortunately, recently followed a link to a site that was going on about the earth's magnetic poles reversing - North becomes South and vice versa. Apparently it's happened before, is overdue and if it does happen would be the end of life as we know it. There's a lot of, ahem, 'opinions' out there.

I was being kind of serious (apart from the Eastern States bit 
). If you are just starting out in life then this is probably aspirational, but for someone who is older, more established, has built up some 'wealth' then it's a desirable state of affairs. I classify it as a comfortable, not wealthy lifestyle. Most of the people I have as friends live like this and I don't consider them to be wealthy.
