Is it any specific fancy dress? eg, black/white theme, and is it a significant age? that might help with rhyming too. i know you'll not want to put all the details on but if you want to include details of venue, date, time, that might also help with putting poem together. i'm not offering to do it by the way, but a guy i work with does this kind of thing. i can ask him for ya!!

We packed up our cases
And we left old Blighty where the weather is shitey.
We arrived not that far, just a day away.
Where the Wombat and Koala play
A whole new life - Its 'Fair Dinkum' too
the sea is warm and the skies are blue.
They told us it was the ‘lucky country’ but didn't warn us that
