Camping - Powered or unpowered?
We are planning a camping trip and are complete novices other than if you count the few times I slept under canvas as a teenager lol.
We have looked at a few websites and are more confused than anything. powered or unpowered, concrete pad, ensuite (Ensuite camping FFS) these are some of the terms I have come up against and was wondering who camps on a concrete pad, are these not meant for caravans??? What is an ensuite campsite, is it just a toilet or a shower too? Any experienced campers out there want to take our hand and walk us through it? |

Re: Camping - Powered or unpowered?
Camping in Australia means taking everything out of your house, and I mean everything, loading it into your two 4x4s, trailers and boat plus whatever kids cars you can rustle up, moving the entire load to a campsite, and rebuilding your home there sans bricks and mortar.
I camped in my little one man tent in the campsite at Town of 1770. It was like building a bungalow in New York City. |
Re: Camping - Powered or unpowered?
I was camping in Tasmania over xmas. I saw these two guys who had a campervan. On the side of the campervan they had hung a flatscreen telly. They had a gazebo over the telly to stop the light reflecting off it. There was a satelite dish on top. They were sitting under the gazebo with their laptops and a beer fridge.
I just wondered what was the point of them going camping? |

QUOTE] Totally true, Im amazed every weekend when the petrol stations here are chocka with 4x4s that have huge boat on the roof and the biggest overloaded trailers you have ever seen, and not forgetting the 3 kids screaming in the back:eek: If its holiday time the trail of these vehicles coming from Perth, is hilarious. Camping light is not in the Aussie vocab. Gems |
