Lamingtons are not worth the effort of making them.

My OH loves treacle tart, but I prefer Bakewells.

Well, that's how it was for me. Tried 'em once, don't need to try them again.
Must have been one of those crap shop bought ones...us kids would have layered it with fresh jam and cream

Can't have a lamington drive (a fundraiser) without the lamingtons now can we

When I first arrived I used to try the Lamingtons that people would bring into work, I really tried to like stuff like them, just to fit in. But I gave up after about 6 months of coconut flakes covering stale sponge! I rarely eat cake of any kind here now, for that reason, I don't really trust it and on the rare occasion I feel obliged to eat it at work I find its drier than sponge cake at home - don't know why, the drier air in offices, different recipes, who knows, but it causes less offence if I stay clear instead of trying to pretend "mmm thats lovely"

Nah... even if it was the most beautifully prepared lamington, my tastebuds would still go into meltdown. It takes a lot to overcome the 40 years of conditioning that if it's covered in chocolate and coconut, it's a snowball.

Just hand over your money and chuck it in the bin Don't see that many lamingtons drives happening these days anyway with people's fancy, schmancy demands so you're fairly safe compared to days gone by when you had to buy fundraising lamingtons off someone you knew at least once a fortnight

There is nothing quite like a treacle-covered tart.

My grandfather tells the story of a tart which has almost passed into family lore!

Love 'em, don't miss them.

I've just made apricot and white chocolate slice for morning tea at pre-school today.

I've put on a kilo just reading this post

(Actually, do you think the doctor would believe that as an excuse?)

Any tart will do for me!

Sadly, I have to cut down as I need to get my body back to the 'buffness' it should be

I do love Albert cake!
