Buying things from USA
With AUD $1 currently buying approx USD $1.04, there really never has been a better time to give the credit cards a good work-out.
But what should I buy? and where from? Please give me a few ideas. I need to spend some money.

A friend of mine buys yachts in the US (you pay GST but not import duty) - sails them across and flips them out to the Aussies for a handsome profit. How big were you thinking?
I've been buying clothes, trainers, boat parts including new oven from the US. They arrive faster than things do from Brisbane!

Go to www.priceusa.com.au and look at last 100 orders the sites users have made...link at top of page. Last 100 orders page also has a Quick Buys panel down the right of the page with pre filled common orders.

I buy clothes from JCPenney, satisfied so far. I'm familiar with US clothing sizes so it's not difficult. They ship to Australia (approx 3 weeks).
The prices are quite low (even with below-parity forex rate plus shipping), often 1/2 the price in Myer/David Jones! Before you check out, google for coupon/discount codes first - you can get further discounts from the already low list price.
Sometimes I first window-shop at Myer/David Jones to get a feel of the the real product, then I go online shopping from the US!

Just be cautious buying supplements and the like. I bought some vitamins from the States and AQIS sent me a $40 bill for xraying them.

Jeez, if you need to offload money just ship it my way. You won't get anything material for it but you can rest assured you'd make a lowly sick Moderator very happy.
