Sorry, meant to say, Burpengary is on northside of Brisbane about 35 km from CBD.

I dont know if this is too rude but it makes me lol everytime we pass it...

There's a place , think it's on way up Sunshine coast called....................."Bald Knob".

Gets me everytime ...

I had to get out of the house today as humidity was bugging me and the boys were going stir crazy:blink:

Anyhow, "Burp"engary is a bit of an odd one alright....when I used to come over on hols before we got married and we'd be heading up the Sunshine coast we'd pass the exit and I'd think "What an awful name" ......oops!!!

Little did I think eh....

I love the house we're buying so hopefully it'll be the right move for us, just get knots in my stomach as it took my eldest ages to settle in and make friends and now i'm changing things again.....be good that we'll be finally properly settled before he starts school though...

Redcliffe is a Pommie hotbed then....how far is that then from Burpengary does anyone know ?

What about Narangba, is there many Irish/English peeps there?

Now I sound like I'm desperate for friends....guess I am a little

15-20 mins to Redcliffe tops I would say, depending on which bit. Very close, though Burpengary is on the Bruce Hughway rather than on the Redcliff peninsula.

Re: Burpengary!

We stayed in Scarborough on the peninsula and I'd say it took about ten or fifteen minutes to Burpengary.

When do you move to burp as there are a few of us from that area that have just started meeting up and you would be welcome to join us.

is there anything worthwhile to do or see in burpengary?

I've only ever driven past it on the bruce highway. Whenever I think of burpengary, I think of the weighbridge on the bruce highway.

Goodness no, nothing to see or do. Its just a suburb with a range of supermarkets, fast food outlets and small businesses. The nearby aquatic centre is a useful facility.
Its an ok suburb, prefer Narangba Valley, hence renting in Burpengary & building in Narangba Valley.

Thank you so much, that'd be great.

We move in or around 12th March so not long to go......

I've read up a few things about there being a huge marina project kicking off that'll put Burpengary "on the map"...is that true?

That's a shame .....but I'm sure we'll enjoy living there nonetheless.....we'll have a huge yard and pool and I'm quite used to having to travel for days out here as it is even tho' we live close to Brisbane at the minute.....

Isnt it funny , someone else I spoke to told me to "avoid Narangba like the plague" ...mind she said same about Burpengary!!!

People can be very snobby about material things eh....
