Default Building Site Loo

Hi Guys,

Just wondered if anyone has had a house built and instead of the tradies using the outside site toilet, they have actually used yours in the house they are working on?

We had a pre-pre handover inspection last week (yes a pre-pre handover.................dont ask) and noticed both the toilets had been soiled. Not sure how we could tell but I think it might have been the piss splashes all over the seat and floor and skids and crap left in the pan that gave it away (unflushed too for that matter) !!!!!

The building supervisor looked really embarrassed and didnt know what to say.

The thing is i am seriously thinking about asking the building company for a refund on the final account for the cost of the site bog because obviously it hasnt been used.

We are building in WA.

Looking forward to your replies guys.

Rob

Are you upset because you wanted to christen it yourself or at the fact that it wasn't left clean & flushed?
Was your pre pre handover after the house clean had been done?
Bear in mind the toilets are usually last to be fitted i.e after tiling , painting etc so your site loo will have been used extensively right up until the last week to ten days before handover, hardly grounds for a refund. Most builders off-hire the site loo as soon as the plumbing fix out is completed.
FWIW I'm a tradie [wall & floor tiler] If the toilets are fitted & working when I tile the main floors I'll always use them. Sites are usually thick with mud so it doesn't pay to keep traipsing it in onto the floors I'm tiling.
That said I'd never dream of not flushing & leaving it spotless

It was the missus that was more upset than i was really and the inspection was done before the house cleaners had been in and before a load of other jobs had been finished too.
Still.............no excuse to leave the toilets in the condition they left them in though. Their mothers would be so proud of the little shits (parden the pun )
The porta-loo was there for a good few weeks and they have only just taken it away so it was there when we had the inspection.
