Brittany Higgins case finally delayed indefinitely. Well done to the terrible couple, Lisa Wilkinson and Bandana Man. At least these 2 can still see the cash for the book deal with Higgins. Something tells me the 3 of them know the court case is a farce and they are just looking for the cash on the book deal.

I think you are probably right. Meanwhile the poor chap has been tarred and feathered by the media and his life will never be the same again. He may be a noxious prat, I dont know, but he deserved a fair hearing and he will never get that. I would like to see Lisa charged with contempt of court, she deserves it!

I agree. If he is ever convicted, it will be appealed out it's wazoo - ala Cardinal Pell - with a good chance of an overturn. Sexual assault is a terrible crime and those that commit it deserve severe pumishment, but this guy can never receive a fair trial - maninly thanks to virtue-signalling Champagne socialist media darlings

Wilkinson is an obnoxious woman (married to an equally obnoxious man) who has overstepped the mark - and done Higgins no favours at all

The crazy part of all this is that every member of a jury will have been exposed to this story to the point that Higgins may not have a fair hearing. Wilkinson has totally screwed her case up.

Well this is the gift that keeps on giving. The cops didn't want Bruce Lehman charged due to lack of evidence but were pressured by the DDP to do so. And the lack of evidence fell apart the court case.

There's years of corrupt investigations, civil defamation caes, etc on this.

You can't make this stuff up.

Reminds me of the case last year when one of the ministers (Alan Sludge??) had an affair and the taxpayer picked up the compensaton bill payout of around $600000!!!!

Totally agree. And the article says she was seeking compensation for past and future economic loss, etc, etc but why is that the fault of the taxpayer. She did this all on her own.

And what about Bruce? If anyone deserves to be compensated surely its Bruce.

Brittany Higgins has reached a confidential settlement with the Commonwealth after the former political staffer's claims of sexual assault at Parliament House.

Personal injury lawyer Noor Blumer, acting for Ms Higgins, issued a brief statement on Tuesday.

"At a mediation held today, the Commonwealth and Ms Higgins settled her claims," Ms Blumer said.

"At the request of Ms Higgins, the parties have agreed that the terms of the settlement are confidential."

How on earth is this woman able to gag the Labor party into not disclosing how much money and for what reason taxpayers have to part with $$$$. This is public money and for whatever reasons she is seeking it occurred in a public office. And if the claim arises from any wrong doing by ministers then the public deserve to know this too.

Higgins doesn’t want it buried, the govt does and has. It started with external contractors steam cleaning the Ministers office at 5:00am, removing any evidence, and went downhill from there.

Cleaning at 5am? What ....... when she slept, sorry passed out drunk, naked on the sofa cleaners are vacuuming around her? Or did they roll her off the sofa, wiped down the sofa and rolled her back onto it? Hardly. She was still there at 7am when security checked. Again another story that doesn't stack up.
