Shamelessly pinched from the Middle East forum - its British Sandwich Week
Since the 4th Earl of Sandwich called for some 'cuts of beef between slices of toasted bread', and created the first 'sandwich', this great British culinary invention has gone from strength-to-strength largely due to the constant development of enticing new products.
New sandwiches on offer include
Pork & Apple Baguette at ASDA, Sweet Chilli Crayfish and Mango Bloomer at Pret A Manger and The Ultimate…Aberdeen Angus Beef with Red Onion Chutney at Marks and Spencer
----------------------------
Big fan of bacon sandwiches myself, or chicken and Branston pickle, egg and salad cream, or English ham, tomato and salad cream.....and I still miss Asda's egg and bacon sandwiches that I used to have for lunch at work
Anyone else got a favourite sandwich........?

For me it's Marmalade, fresh crusty whole meal with butter & a generous dollop of Keiller's or Rose's
Savoury option would be cheese & branston

A Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt sandwich, with me in the middle...
Actually forget the Brad Pitt bit, I'd prefer an open Johnny Depp with me on top open sandwich... Very continental...

One of the good points of the humble sandwich, it fills so many different roles
(no pun intended!)
