Well, in the last few months in Brisbane . I have been to the Greek festival (huge) , Italian festival and German Oktoberfest, I was wondering if anybody had thought of starting something similar for all things British. I think it would be a lot of fun. I did go to a small Scottish gathering at Southbank which was held the same day as the Greek festival, and really enjoyed the bagpipes etc. Maybe something Mr. and Mrs. Soapy could put their talents to

It sounds like every day is British day in Birkdale! You could head down there anytime.

That's the problem . . . there are so many different 'things' which make up Britishness that getting any sort of agreement as to what's in and what's not, would be impossible. Scottish / Welsh / English / Irish Festivals maybe . . .

Yes, you a probably right, much the pity. I was sitting in the beer hall at the Brissy Oktoberfest, enjoying a few cold ones (expensive that German Brew !!) , and just got to thinking about something similar for the British, with different areas set up. Food, drink, entertainment etc. Maybe those German Blonde beers were hitting the mark a bit too much

The "UK Fest" in Mornington was very successful a couple of years ago.

My mate organised that
and I don't think a week goes by when one of us doesn't give him a bit of stick about it
.It was a good idea but he got very greedy and charged too much. We all said start it small and it will grow, but the $$ signs got to him
