I've been to the boat show a few times, I enjoy just looking at the nice shiny bits of new kit.
I've been to the Sanctuary Cove one as well, both are great for a day out.

The Sanctuary Cove one is really laid back (in a very very expensive kind of way) in terms of selling stuff. I imagine the Brissie one is the same.

If you're not already, become a member of Boating & Leisure World (next to Satisfaction Marine) in Labrador (Brissie Road). They have members evenings every couple of months or so with really good discounts if you need something good, but you get a members discount anyway everytime you buy something at other times.

With luxury items like that, breaking the cost of ownership down into dollars per hour of use would probably make you cry. But then again if you can afford it you probably wouldn't bother doing the maths.

We got ours for $9,000 which we thought was really reasonable. We're definitely fair weather sailors. It's been in hiding since March and wasn't out much before that due to the crap summer (boating wise anyway). I think it's the same as anything like that. Like gym equipment - great idea in theory but ends up shoved under the bed in practice

We won't be getting shot of it though and K does like to tinker
