Is there any restrictions or conditions to bring in used hardwood furniture to Australia.

Our bedroom and dining room furniture is all made from reclaimed barnboard and shows loads of signs of previous woodworm. It all cleared AQIS with no problems. It really is only untreated, raw wood and wicker that they worry about. So long as your furniture is treated and sealed it should be fine.

I have heard of people losing stuff this way. How do you prove it is not live?

The wood is obviously very old and sealed all over. We made sure to declare it as antique furniture on our manifest, even though it isn't really antique. Maybe we just got lucky.

Bring it!!!!!!! we brought our old funiture with us and so glad we did as it is VERY expensive here....would have brought more if we would have known!
