A Bridge somewhere between Melbourne and Sydney
#1
Hi all. When we visited Oz 10 years ago, we drove from Melbourne to Sydney along the Coast Road. We stopped at a disused old Railway Bridge that was recommended on the tourist info. We stopped for a couple of minutes to take photos but we can't remember what it was called or where it was near. All I remember is that it was off the main road at the end of a very rocky road through some woods and me praying we didn't get a puncture or something and had to stop. It was not visible from the road.
Sorry if there is not much to go on but hoping someone on here has been there.
Thanks

Nothing is ringing huge bells but do any of the bridges on the rail trail through Gippsland look familiar? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Gippsland_Rail_Trail
Only other bridge of note - and it is WAY off the beaten track is McKillops but it isn't rail, it's road across the Snowy (original bridge built there got washed away in the first flood)

I think I have found it. After looking up the bridge near Nowa Nowa, I think the Stoney Creek Trestle Bridge is the one.

Thanks to quoll and anyone who has tried to find it for me.

They built some monster trestle bridges back in the day! I have a feeling that Stony Creek got damaged by fire at some point. Dont think I would have liked to have gone across in a train!

I thought they were going to build a bridge between Melbourne and Sydney, it would get a few unemployed construction workers back to work
