Bloody timewasters!

The sale of my parents flat has just fallen through by some timewasting tw*t. He kept making demands to reduce the price, it wasn't going to be offered any lower, and now wants £1500 cash from my parents, for what I don't know. Dad and the estate agent think it's to pay the CSA and has nothing to do with the sale of the flat.
He's essentially blackmailing mum and dad into selling the flat, they desperately want to get rid of it before we go to Aus. The guy looking at it doesn't know we're leaving the country but he still tried it on. According to the Estate agent he wanted £1500 or he'd pull out of the sale. He was told to F off.
The estate agent is fed up with him too. So now the flat is back on the market. While this has all been going through there has been a "Sold" sign outside the place, putting offf people who may have really wanted it.
Timewasting b*st*rd! :curse:
I'm pissed off that my mum and dad have been treated like this.

In comparison; the process from List to Sale down-under is a doddle (mind you... we do need to have the Panadol handy from time to time!).
If a Settlement isn't apt to take place on time here in WA for whatever reason.......... then both parties are granted a 3 days grace period so any hiccups in the process can be ironed out; afterwhich penalty interest could be charged.
Here we work to a binding contract on both parties, areas of concern are finance approval ............ bank valuations.............. building inspections ........ white-ant infestation........... good working order.......plus the odd bout of buyer's or seller's remorse.......... but we have no such thing as one party being able to pull out of the deal minutes before settlement takes place. It's barmy over there?
We have subject sales here too (think you call that a chain?)......... but generally speaking we have annexures and added clauses forming part of the contract which in effect are placed there to cover all aspects of the sale.
I think I would need something much stronger than Panadol if conducting sales over there?
Best of luck, hope those with sales having fallen over can get back on track soon with alternative buyers.

I sympathise with all you vendors selling in the UK; I've never heard so many tales of woe and heartache before. Surely such a complicated system needs a total revamp?

Why would your buyers buyer want 5000 deposit from each of you? What for.
Also confused over the OP's buyer demanding cash from the vendor. What right has a buyer to demand cash and deposits

Forgot to add - I do sympathise with all who are being let down in the selling process. It happened to us as we left for Aus. Took 6 months of stress selling it, paying mortgage on it while paying rent in Aus. Lost a lot on it. Law needs to be changed

Last week, we accepted an offer from a young couple. They wanted us to leave some stuff so we asked them to make a list. When the Estate Agent called them two days later, they said they don't even want out house.
How can you go from putting in and acceptance of an offer to not even wanting the house? muppets.
Friday, the Estate Agent called saying somebody was very interested and wanted to view today (Sunday). Yesterday they call to say viewer has cancelled.
We have put our house up quite cheap for a quick sale - but we think may be the cheap price is putting people off because they thing there is something wrong with it

Must say I hate the way a house sale/purchase is done in the UK at least over here its a bit more straight forward and if you have a settlement date unless an earthquake happens you can usually quarantee moving that day, none of this pulling out at the last minute!

Not sure why he wanted the cash. The estate agent thinks the guy has bills to pay or the CSA after money and he can't afford it, so he's basically asking complete strangers to sort out his financial problems. It's all gone to the solicitor to sort out.
