Frasier
Frasier
Frasier

Did I mention Frasier?

The only American sitcom that I can watch, although Cheers is a contender.

Apart from"The Royal Family" and "Likely Lads", all of the above. Must add "M.A.S.H" and "Goodnight Sweetheart" to my list.

Can I just point out that apart from the very occasional US show, the vast majority are British shows, and there are no Australian shows at all.

To be honest, I didn't even consider US or Aus, my brain was purely on UK stuff.

Its just kind of interesting to me.

If you look at what the yanks think are the best comedy shows, its full of what I'd consider embarrassing pap (eg Modern Family). Now maybe you could say they don't know better and haven't been exposed to most of the good stuff - however - if you look at what the Australians' tend to say is top comedy its ALSO full of the same American pap - and they do have the opportunity to see British stuff.

Maybe comedy is too culturally specific to really travel well. After all, the same kind of person who says "Modern Family" is great is unlikely to pick "The Mighty Boosh".

Oh, and can I put in a vote for the usual suspects of Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, etc., but also Coupling, Red Dwarf, and Absolute Power.

Pah - I would vote for most of the stuff already mentioned (including The Might Boosh) and I really like Modern Family too.

Oh, and Malcolm in the Middle. Mostly because I kind of channel Lois.
And Scrubs. Because everyone has a JD in their lives. (If they don't, they should get one)

Mind you, I watch all kinds of rubbish, so what would I know :D

Auf Wiedersehen, Pet

Really did the trick for me, I did the 'English migrant tradie' thing in Europe and I could really relate to the humor ......outstanding :)
