It is my last night in Sydney tonight and I thought I would use my personal thread for a quick update. We have been in Australia for just over three weeks now, spent most of our time in Sydney and it has been pretty awful weather wise. We went to Adelaide to see some friends last weekend and the skies opened there too. But we have tried to make the most of it, lots of vineyard visits in SA.

This was a kind of validation visit for us, but we also wanted to test the job markets and as there are no little Bermudashorts we are quite flexible over move date. So we both looked up employment opportunities and I am compltely overwhelmed to have just taken the call to say that a job offer is forthcoming. I will be the second in charge ("2IC" - I had to ask what that meant ) to the CFO of one of Australia's major financial services providers. Mr Bermudashorts has also been offered a role subject to visa and reference checking.

Cripes I hope that does not come across as smug, I truly don't mean to be if so, fact is I have had far too much wine and am overwhelmed by the enormity of it all.

You know what? If it does sound smug (and it doesn't to me) I think you are well within your rights to do so. That's brilliant news. It's talent and luck of the draw, you've obviously got the talent and you had the luck so many congrats to both of you.

Thank you MP, we are quite emotional at the moment. Mr Bermudashorts's opportunity, should it pan out , will be a DIRECT consequence of one of my posts on BE pleading for help (and I will thank the people involved properly when the time is right). If so then perhaps it will be my real life karma for all that abuse we receive on immi forum.

And that's always a bonus. You'll have to tell the darlings of your good news

Oh I will. Just biding my time, don't want to count those chickens just yet.

Great news . I could say "I told you so", but I know we were worried too about getting jobs when we left the UK.

My last day in the UK. Got everything done that I need to get done and just enjoying my home for a few more hours. I have been up since 2am fretting and wondering what on earth we are doing. I woke Mr Bermudashorts up at 3am to discuss this matter further much to his delight.

The Bermudashorts kitties were collected by Golden Arrow today at 9.30am and they will spend a week or so in the kennels before flying out next week with Qantas. Quite worried about the persian as he gets over stressed during a five minute car journey.

Funny old day.
