Well that's just odd  The Iron Men are far more eye candy and worth looking at than Boy George who is more ear candy

Re: Behaviour at concerts
The reviews of George Michael a couple of weeks ago in Perth commented that is was one of the first times in Perth the whole crowd had been up dancing!
It is very odd here. I remember going to Midnight Oil at the Entertainment Centre in Perth in the early 90's and couldn't believe it when after the support act a young boy came round selling ice creams just like the cinema in 70's during "intermission". It was a wild crowd that night! |

Is it just me that actually thinks that's quite cool? I mean older women happy and interested enough to go to a Boy George concert but know that jumping about is not for them and feeling that sitting doing nothing is a waste of knitting time? I think that's great.

Not so much these days - all the songs were several tones lower than the 80s.

You surely don't mean that he's becoming more eye candy than voice? Did he have his neck painted black? Who told him that was a good look? Hey George, you're looking a bit porky, quick way to lose the weight mate? Paint your neck black, you'll look slim in seconds.

I can't stand him. Painting your neck black to cover up how fat and ugly you are is mental...just like him.

We went to see Boy George in Singapore and myself and several other middle-aged has-beens were shoved forcibly back into our seats by the security staff. Boy George was a bit bemused by all this and was telling people to dance. I actually saw grannies with their knitting (seriously!).
Also in Singapore, the management pulled the plug on David Bowie's encore :o Who TF pulls the plug on Bowie??? F'ing jobsworths. I love Boy George :sneaky: always have. Saw Culture Club live when they first hit the charts and was amazed that he could really sing. Saw him many years later, DJing in Hong Kong. Well to be more accurate I heard him, as I never actually saw him. I believe Grace Jones sang at the same gig but I couldn't see her either :( (We went to see Taboo the musical just before we left the UK - the story of Boy George. Marilyn was sat in front of us; now he's looking damn bloaty and rough.) |
Re: Behaviour at concerts
I guess it depends who's playing! We usually like to jump around quite alot, but on the other hand I have seen people like Crosby Stills & Nash in London and been quite happy to sit and watch.I've never been to a rock gig and sat down!Could'nt think of anything worse actually. While we're on the subject,we usually go to a festival (UK)every year.Last year we attended Womad, which is a festival of cultural arts.We had a programme so would find the approapriate stage, and sit near the front so we had a good view.As soon as the act came on,people behind us would just push in front, and literaally stand straight in front of us.At one stage my OH(who is usually polite)tapped someone's shoulder and said "We did'nt pay to look at your ass"
