Behaviour at concerts
I've just been reading a discussion online about sitting/standing at concerts when you are in the seating area.
The subject is hotly debated and if I hadn't been to the Eagles in Perth about 6 years ago I'd have thought thousands of people sitting through a gig was laughable! According to some (this relates to ACDC last night) a fair percentage of the crowd sat throughout the entire gig  I am no ACDC fan however, I'd never have thought it would have been like that. Some people are saying it is just a Perth thing and that Robbie Williams (who slated the Perth gig to the Sydney crowd) and Pink were the same - thousands just sitting watching. I've been to several Robbie gigs, Take That etc and have never sat through any of the. If anyone told me to sit at a gig here I'd probably laugh at them and tell them to bugger off. Will wait and see what Tom Jones brings on Sunday! Is this Australian wide or just Perth? Queue more slagging off Perth.......:D no doubt! |

They do enforce sitting in QLD too. I know when you go to the Entertainment Centre they force you to sit. I think they do it for safety reasons, especially in venues where they are built for sitting as are many stadia and centres. |

No idea myself(not a lot of help I know!)but I did hear a man on the radio who is in a wheelchair saying that he could not see anything at the AC/DC concert in Perth as everyone around him was standing.Sue.

Billie Joe told everyone to get on their effin feet and they did and stood all the way through. Was nice that no little Hitlers in tabards made them sit down. :) |

Re: Behaviour at concerts
I've never heard of anyone sitting through an entire concert. What kind of concerts are we talking about here?
Try sitting at the Big Day Out; good luck with that! http://i48.tinypic.com/24y1uo6.jpg |

Re: Behaviour at concerts
I like to be right at the front squashed up against the crowd jumping and dancing like a right mad person!
Sitting down is for the non-dancing types! ;) Em x |
Re: Behaviour at concerts
We went to see Boy George in Singapore and myself and several other middle-aged has-beens were shoved forcibly back into our seats by the security staff. Boy George was a bit bemused by all this and was telling people to dance. I actually saw grannies with their knitting (seriously!).

I quite like a comfy seat, being the senior bod I am now. I'm even one of the old sweats in the fire brigade - that's saying alot.

Is it just me that actually thinks that's quite cool? I mean older women happy and interested enough to go to a Boy George concert but know that jumping about is not for them and feeling that sitting doing nothing is a waste of knitting time? I think that's great.
