Me too!

I never did like that Pavarotti fellow.

And don't get me started on Demis Roussos.

Dust!

Indeed - quite a fun game actually.

I can think of a few locations that might just meet it (naturally allowing for differences in country - god dammit afterall!) but a lot more money is required and frankly, we like it here so it's really academic.

To be honest, I only mention ''fat/feral'' people because so many people have an issue with those issues in Australia. Read the MBTTUK forum or socio-economic complaints in general from those not happy here.

It was partly an exercise in comparing and contrasting Australia with UK as objectively as I could. And parts of London/the UK were without peer in terms of these problems people complain about - others weren't, hence my emphasis on area, not nation.

A little rotundness is not an issue. But an area where a high proportion is obese, along with a myriad of other factors (etc) will I bet ya be more ''feral'' than an area where everyone is decidedly not.

People (even grumpy old men) seem to find them charming (mostly!!) rather than annoying or an inconvenience
There were plenty of kids running around The Pilgrim here in Marchwood when I strolled down for a meal and over my local snooker club last night, the landlord, Mark, brought in his toddler 'Angel' and I noticed that even the most hardened of (male) punters were 'cooing' over her.

Many pubs are legally bound NOT to allow kids in but they are often welcome in the beer gardens.

Prior to the smoking ban last year I would not have dreamed of taking kids in a pub anyway.

There were very few pubs I'd want my children in in the UK too - that's the difference!

Good point It was bizarre to escape to the local when my Mum was here - but I could get used to it

Most of the country pubs are really just restaurants with bars attached now. A bit like Sydney in some ways except that they are 'Pokie Parlours' with a bar attached!

My 2 year old daughter sat on a stool at the bar of the hotel/pub we stayed at in Wales.

She got so many cordial drinks off the barstaff it wasn't funny!

I agree

Real Estate agents are to blame for all the ills in this World, they should all be whipped to within an inch of their lives.

Saying that though the one who sold us our house was really feral AKA fat
