When we went up Kingsville way last year, there were a few brand new dwellings but still some where nothing had been done. Large parts of the state forest were still closed to allow for recovery and clean-up but most of the gum trees are back to green and you could almost doubt anything happened at all. It is another story in Marysville which was obliterated by the fires. Last winter, most shops were operating out of portables and not much had been rebuilt. The Lake Mountain resort was operating for skiing and tobogganing though and again, the forest had started to recover. We hope to go up to the snow again in the next couple of weeks and we'll see how much of a difference another year has made. It was heartbreaking to see Marysville as it was last year as it used to be a very picturesque town. The B&B where we stayed 6 years ago was razed to the ground. It was a beautiful old house with a wrap-around veranda and gorgeous gardens. All gone now
